Structure Fire - The Crest, Virginia Ave

One unit was heavily damaged and several others sustained smoke and water damage as fire burned in the Crest Apartments on Virginia Avenue in Rehoboth Beach on Monday evening. Over 100 firefighters from Rehoboth Beach, Lewes, Bethany Beach and several other Sussex County Fire Departments battled the blaze for over 2 hours before bringing it under control. No injuries were reported with the buildings alarm system alerting residents who evacuated as crews arrived. The Delaware State Fire Marshall is on the scene investigating the cause.
