Wednesday, June 17, 2009
Fire Chief Donald E. Mitchell Jr. is pleased to announce that, RBVFC has placed in service a 2008 American Lafrance Quint Fire Apparatus. The unit is a combination pumper/ladder truck which allows more versatility on the emergency scene. "Quint 86" as it will be designated, is equipped with a 2000 GPM Waterous 2 Stage pump, with a 500 gallon tank and a 75' rearmount aerial ladder with 500' tip load. A 10 KW Generator along with a full complement of Ground Ladders and Tools for fighting operations are included in the truck. This is the first large truck the RBVFC has purchased since 1995, at a cost of over $600.000.00 to build and equip. It will provide us with further capabilities in fire protection to the Fire District and Communities we serve. The new piece will be stationed at the Rehoboth Avenue Fire Station while going through a break in period, and Chief Mitchell invites anyone who would like to see the new unit to stop by.
