Building Fire East Atlantic Apts

RBVFC responded to a reported electrical fire at East Atlantic Apt's off of Wolfe Neck Road on Sunday February 26th at approx. 11:45 hrs. Upon arrival of the Duty Officer smoke was showing from the eve's and Assistant Chief Vaughan McCabe upgraded to incident to a full box response which added Lewes FD and Indian River FC. Fire crews had to pull ceilings in 2 apartments and discovered that a heater unit had malfunctioned and ignited insulation and rafters. A quick knockdown was accomplished, and crews preformed overhaul. Units cleared the call after 1-1/2 hours on scene. The Delaware State Fire Marshall is investigating.
